We had a wonderful time on Wednesday, June the 6th, performing as part of Christ Community Church’s Bluegrass & BBQ night. The weather proved a worthy ally and we were able to move the festivities outside, which turned out to be a huge blessing as the temp stayed around 75 and breezy all night.
We were especially blessed to get to share music with some wonderful friends and gifted bluegrass musicians. Our huge thanks goes out the Dave and Jonathan Dillard, Chris Joslin, Sam Farris and Kevin McClung for sharing their gifts and their time. The musical menu included some old bluegrass standards and some brand new acoustic music as well.
Over 150 people sat out in the yard and at picnic tables as we played with the band (Temple singing and I on bass) and also shared some of our duo music. Our duo for the evening became a trio as we were joined by dobro stylist Chris Joslin for a couple of numbers.
It was a very special evening for both Temple and I. A beautiful night of music and fellowship with our church family and some amazingly talented musicians. We can’t ask for much more than that, right?!
Here are some pics from the evening…
